 What is the point?

For this assignment we are asked to write about:

  • why we selected the context of professional practice that you did
  • what professional contributions you hope to make in that professional space
  • how these spaces can contribute to your growth as a professional
  • how they can serve as a place for you to provide leadership.

Then we are asked to:

  • think about what mode of communication best suits the space
  • analyze the web site for clues as to the practice of the site’s participants

Specifically;

What type of curricular design commonly guides planning, instruction and evaluation?

Then, we are asked to write out an analysis.

I think I am developing a better understanding for the Why of this assignment....I would like to invite you to stay tuned :)

Hello PME- 801 classmates and Dr.Luyt, I have decided to post my growth video in a power point with a recording into my blog. It has been a while since I used this blog, but feel this may be a new beginning for me in using it more readily to share work with others. This was one of my personal goals in this course as I learned more about collaborative inquiry and the 2.0 tools that can be used to support online collaboration. This was my first attempt at creating a power point with a video recording. It's kind of handy but is challenging to find a way to share it! The video recording makes it a large file so it is not so easy to share. After trying to work out a number of possibilities to share, I ended up adding it to my blogger website.  I can see that all of the technology learning we have done in this course will likely be helpful given the new reality of school and COVID 19. Universal Design for Learning as an Innovative Indigenous Education Classroom Approach While taking a deep dive into my inquiry question:  How can education be re-conceptualized to include Indigenous knowledge and education and how does this new conception promote innovation in teaching and learning? I was reminded of the work of Jennifer Katz in her book titled: Ensouling our Schools .  As noted in the Calls to Action K to Grade 12 Education must incorporate Indigenous perspectives into their curricula. This would represent an innovative change to an existing structure or process. “The root of innovation is innovâre, which means to renew or make changes. Consequently, innovation is adding something new to an existing product or process” (Badaran, I., 2007, p. 574). Indigenous perspectives on well-being are an important component of the work of the author.
